A sampler of needle lace stitches also known as detached buttonhole are worked in white, cream and warm light brown perle cotton threads from a white lacy ribbon over brown cotton fabric – fabric colour is close to DMC Embroidery Cotton #3862. This sampler has a wonderful variety of needle lace/detached buttonhole stitches. Beppy probably intended to finish the needlework into a cushion or mounted as a sampler, there is a 2 1/2 inch border of brown fabric for finishing. Approximate time it took to make: 35 hours.
